The one where I felt a prompt to just send it...
This week was kinda filled with a whole bunch of people canceling so that wasn't super fun but we had a couple highlights of the week!
The first highlight was our APs came down to Klamath Falls. Elders Hepworth and Yeager super awesome elders, they are the ones that drove me to Klamath Falls from Eugene when I first arrive on the Mish! Anyways they spent a couple of days down here because they are the social media leaders so they were filming some stuff down here! One morning, we went to the gym with them, and the other morning we played basketball because there good at basketball lol so that was fun to hang a little with them!
This week, has been a lot better between Elder Kjar and me getting along is definitely the best week, the long drives are filled with a lot of laughter and conversations which means a lot bc I was seriously struggling with lessons with him but of course we get to a good spot with one week of the transfer left lol but oh well! Just glad it's getting better!
We have been making progress with Shannon, a super good guy and he wants to change his ways with tobacco so that's awesome. We set a goal with him to only do it a less amount every other day and it's worked! I think my convincing skills I learned from my business have helped with moving Georgine's baptism date up a whole month to Jan 21st and helping Shannon feel like he can do this goal and it has worked! I knew I needed to be here and I'm so glad I've been able to have a bit of say in the lessons because I know them better than Elder Kjar bc I've been here in Klamath longer, and I'm not completely newbie lol so I'm glad both of those people are doing good and making progress!!
On Sunday, we had an interesting experience with a family we have been trying to make contact forever! But first we had a member message that canceled early that morning and that was all we had after church and it was now gone so that was horrible bc Sundays for us are supposed to be busy bc we don't like to be bored lol, we went to church and a couple of hours after we got a call from this family that we have been wanting to get in contact because we just wanted to share a message, so the dad calls us and he's like "hey guys I saw that you called me last week and I'm just now getting back to you but I need a favor" and we are of course anything! And he says "So my car needs a pully for the engine and I need it before tomorrow bc I gotta get to work and it won't make it far." Elder Kjar is like nope no way we are going to buy a part for him on a Sunday. We talk back and forth for like a minute and I somehow convince Elder Kjar I'm like dude I'll buy the 28-dollar part at OReillys and he can pay me back I don't care. So we tell the guy we will be there in an hour and a half bc that's how far the drive was, so we go get the part and we make it an hour and a half later and meet him at a wack gas station and we got talking this is family obviously there super happy and grateful for the willingness to do this on a Sunday!
We got talking with the family and I was able to talk them into meeting with us this upcoming Friday! And they said, "YES OF COURSE!!" I was so ecstatic that I followed the prompt I got to go help this guy! And he ended up paying me double of what the part costed because he was so grateful! Such a great guy and I'm glad I was able to kinda put my foot down to Elder Kjar and show him that it's important to help anyone even if it's a Sunday! So glad I got that feeling and glad I went for it because I usually don't! And all that was able to happen because of that one appointment canceled! Crazy how that stuff happens in life! God knows all things and I know that.
Jan the 16th pday, we went caving and wow that stuff is not for me lol I found out I'm not a big fan of caving with a couple of feet between the ceiling and the ground some Elders went to a cave that had a one-foot gap between the ceiling and the ground no chance I'm doing that haha but it was a good and adventurous p day with the Elders!
Love Elder Fillmore
Pday caving activity with the District
