Hey hey everybody!!
This past week was bitter sweet as transfers came up I found out one of the ZLs here in Grants Pass, Elder Cummins was going to be leaving Grants Pass and heading off to Springfield so sad! Elder Noah Cummins helped me though the hardest transfer of my mission a couple of transfers ago and it led to us to becoming companions as my companion 2 transfers ago got emergency transferred, so I was left to go with the ZLs and it was definitely one of the best transfers being with the ZLs even though I had to run the Redwood Ward alone as i dragged the ZLs Elder Atwood and Elder Cummins around to our lessons for those few weeks I was with them. But then i got my son Elder Pugmire!! Such a homie and he's also a companion ill always remember!!
But Elder Cummins helped me though a lot and it was a sad day when he left because that meant that we weren't gonna be in a apartment share with the ZLs bc they got moved to a different area so its been super quiet and depressing, and then on top of that yesterday on Sunday i woke up with a sore throat so its been one heck of a week.
Sorry for the depressing first bit of that email but the week was better then it seems i promise haha
Me and Elder Pugmire have had some time this week to go door knocking and holy crap its actually kinda funny sometimes or its also scary, but some funny interactions.
The first interaction that was funny we were walking up to the door and the home owner opens the door with his dog on the leash to take the dog out or something, and the owner of the home and the dog got so JUMP scared and it was SO FREAKING FUNNY and keep in mind this is a big like cop looking dog that we scared and the owner was like big and burly, so freaking funny.
Okay okay the next one was something we were laughing about the whole day, so we try to ask this question when they open the door "hey we are the missionaries in the local area, would you be interested in learning more about you family history?" we ask this because its a question they are not gonna be expecting. So we get to this house and we ask that question and the husband and wife are at the door, and the husband says in response of that question "We are Christian..." me and Elder Pugmire look at each other like what the freak, no shot he just said that hahaha it like wasn't even a possible answer to that question we asked them so we were in disarray. So im like sick so are we and I ask them what church they go to and you can just tell there so not down to talk but we just try to be nice haha!! But me and Pugmire go though out the day just laughing so hard about that interaction haha. We also got the occasional door slam so thats also funny I'm trying to help Elder Pugmire more comfortable talking to people in public and door knocking is fun and we try to make it fun so me and him are doing some solid work!!
A lil miracle from door knocking we only had 2 more doors left in our route and those 2 doors showed some promising signs of us possibility being able to teach them! So that was super cool and gave me and Pugmire hope when it came to tracking haha
Darren our lil 13 year old we are gonna be baptizing this transfer, still progressing and keeps coming to scouts and YM so that hype!!
Thats all for this week!! Hope you guys have a good upcoming week!!
