The one where it gets heated with our Jewish friends

Hey hey everybody!! HAPPY VALENTINE'S WEEK

Ima just do a lil paragraph on each day so here we go

MONDAY

After p day had ended our bishop invited us to come ball up in his indoor gym at him house so that was super fun and we played a a lil 3 on 3 action and it was actually one of the more fun games of b ball ive ever played haha, one of the kids there was a less active member so it was sick to be on him team and just get to know him though sports and trying to show him missionaries are normal people

TUESDAY

we helped load and unload a cord and half a of wood for the Southwicks house hold, only 1 member from the Elders Quorum was able to come help us ugh. But we are just glad we had some help! After we split from rounds of wood with a hydraulic splitter so that was sups nice hahah after that we had lunch and then a lesson with Darren the 13 year old that should should be getting baptized on March 2nd!! Woot woot!! For dinner we were over at our ward mission leaders house and we had some super interesting Spaghetti but not one to complain haha it was still edible kinda that dinner ending being a 2 and a half our dinner we went to bed that night and slept sups well haha

WEDNESDAY

Woot woot Happy Valentine's to us missionaries it was especially great when every teaching and member message we had set up..... canceled on us..... so it was a great day full of calling and texting members saying Happy Valentine's!! Over all glad it was my last one on the mish hahah

But for REAL i hope you guys had a good Valentine's day back home or where ever you are!!!

THURSDAY

We had ZL exchanges woot woot it was actually a good day we started off elder Atwood (our zl) he gave some homeless dude some cash bc Atwood was peer pressured to give it to him and he was tryjng to get out of Grants Pass so maybe we were doing everyone in GP a favor.

We dont know hahah but we gave him a Book of Mormon and when we handed him the cash we said bro we are not supposed to hand out money like at, all but this is a one and done, you can never ask for money from missionaries and he's like yes i promise haha so thats that. Hope he had a good experience from the church and thats all we can hope for rightttt?? But after that we had a good "come follow me" lesson with a member that can't come to church for 5 years sadly bc of legal reasons but it was a good lesson.

After that we had kinda our final lesson with Darren we talked about priesthood and how he will be in the Teachers Quorum woot woot and then at the end we tried to solidify a date for his baptism with his mom and should be happening March 2nd! After that we had some fire dinner with some members sister and brother huntsman definitely some members ima remember!

FRIDAY

Kinda a boring day but we had our district meetings and Elder Pugmires MTC training they do for new missionaries over zoom and then we helped our bishop move some couches to a different house on his property and then later that night we went over to help a member from California clean out there dads kitchen bc he had passed and they were getting ready for selling so it was kinda sad to be taking like probably $400 worth of protein and food and spices but they were making us take it I promise!!

But it was super cool to meet this older ish couple like 60s the peeps from Cali that came out to clean out the house and they were telling us their convert story and it was just cool to see like wow we truly are changing lives for the better when we share the gospel! Sometimes in missionary work, I get lost bc it's just like true reality as a missionary but when you hear someone's conversion story and you see how successful it made them in terms of jobs and just being humble and meek its crazy to see the other side of it!!

Get this though... on the way back we get bout a minute down the road and we hear this like like a thud on the tire and I'm like no shot we just ran over a nail.... and bout 3 minutes later we hear this thing hit the tire wheel well and the tire light comes on and we are going like 60 mph but luckily I'm a skilled driver hahaha and i hurried and pulled off and sure enough, the sucker was completely flat such a rip!! So well I hurried and changed the flat and put the spare on basically like the lil green pit spot dude from Cars hopefully you know what I'm saying haha all went well and after taking the tire off we saw the nail hole that was in it so we just took it in the next day and got it pached! Glad my dad taught me how to change a flat so shout out to him.

SATURDAY

wow Saturday was super interesting holy smokes, we had an hour long lesson / getting politely peached to and bashed at the same time with this Jewish couple that had been taught for some time and so we are talking and it literally just didn't feel right at all what they were saying obv bc its not but it was my first Jewish encounter and I know a lil on what they believe in and how they have no set doctrine they only like the Old Testament and the New Testament but only if its mentioned in the Old Testament so it was just so wack honestly. This first time around we let them read to us what they wanted and next time we are gonna have some interesting stuff to talk about bc we said next time let us show you some stuff from the Book of Mormon and the New Testament so it will be super fun but Elder Pugmire truly had to hold me back from truly bashing then they said they "believed in Jesus but he didn't die for our sins" I'm like no shot you just said that. But I kept my cool and next time will be fun hahaha ill keep you guys updated, don't worry I was super respectful and trying to get their point of view haha:)

SUNDAY

we had a busy day full of meetings like ward council and our missionary huddle with our ward missionaries and our ward mission leader. And then we had church and then we taught mission prep and had them role play teaching some points from the 3rd and 4th lesson! Went super well and the youth here so so lit!

Lil a story but it takes some back story first, okay so we are moving to a new apartment to quadpan an apartment (2 missionary companionships) so I'm thinking a head and I'm like oh let move some stuff we dont need into the new house we are living in, into the garage. So we get all packed and the car is full full like 2 box springs and 4 sets of bed frames and all my shoes and my smallest suitcase and 3 folding tables haha trust you can pack a lot into a Toyota rav 4 haha okay so we get it all packed in there and it's like PACKED and I walk back inside to grab the keys bc our dinner is soon and we were planning on dropping this stuff of on the way, and i go to like grab the keys where i think they were and I'm like ohhh shooottt I have no idea where the keys are for the car and I'm like frantically looking for them and I looked everywhere like we fully unpacked the car and fully packed it back up TWICE and I'm like holy crap our dinner is gonna have to come to grab us ughhhh, so its 5:20 and I'm like shoot we gotta tell the members we are gonna be late bc we still hadn't found the key fob. So we texted them and they're like ur total chillin take ur time so we are still trying to look and I obv got the prompting like, Zach say a prayer already ur not gonna find them endless you say a prayer and as i was having this mental battle in my head.

I eventually give up and I'm like fineee ill say a prayer and guess what.... i didn't find them and 14 minutes had gone by so its 5:34 and I was like Heavenly Father please just let me find them pleaseeeee so a minute goes by and I'm like ima check under my box spring for no reason and BOOM THE KEYS WERE under my box spring and I was so relieIved holy crap. And i had checked under my box spring before that 2nd time i checked and god was really right when he said you won't find them unless you say a prayer so it was a crazy lil prayer truly does work even on the lil things!! We ended up being 15 minutes late but it was all good bc the food wasn't ready when we got there so we got to chat bout the lost key story haha with the Phillips before we sat down to eat!!
