The one with all kinds of surprises

This week went by so fast because it was filled with surprises and other highlights below.

Tuesday Nov 8th

Today was filled with service and moving apartments. We did service at a thrift store called Treasures. We sorted a bunch of wires and put them in a massive bin so untangling them took forever lol once we got done they said we could go shopping around and I found a sick sock tie and a sick old handheld FM radio.

After we got done with the service we found out we were moving to a different apartment! So that was exciting and a big surprise but also a small hassle because I finally got all my clothes and desk all organized, but now had to pack it all up. Our new place is an upgrade from our old apartment so that was a massive plus! It puts us 15 minutes closer to our Keno area, but just that much further from the Yonna Valley area.

I found God loves giving us surprises; sometimes they are good in the long run but also a hassle in the moment, just like the hard points in our life.

Wednesday Nov 9th

We had exchanges the ZL's and wow was that a surprise lol bc I didn't know until the morning of, so that was another fun surprise. But holy I was so nervous but as the day went on and as we got doing the stuff on the schedule I felt a lot more comfortable lol, me and Elder Jones despite our differences he taught me a lot about just jumping right into the mission and working hard every day. Definitely look up to the guy!

Thursday Nov 10th

On Thursday we taught Ardie, who has been going to the branch for 5 years now and has a calling but she's not a member of the church. I don't know how that works but she's still somewhat nervous about baptism because she's older. But we will work with her every week and see what progress we can make! The missionaries have taught her all the lessons 3 times, so as we meet we did a scripture in Alma 34 and he was super interested that was fun to see her eyes light up when we read that chapter of Alma.

Then we had a homemade meal by Tom's again!! They love feeding us and I'm grateful for that lol, she made these wonderful tacos but there called Indian tacos because of the bread that you use and the shell is super yummy and also made tiny cheesecakes for us to take home so that was so nice of her and her husband!

Friday Nov 11th

We had district council on Friday and we did role plays for the new missionary so I had to teach the plan of salvation off my memory so that was super difficult but lucky I feel a lot more confident with teaching that subject after the MTC!

Saturday Nov 12

The day we were in service clothes the whole day but before we had the service we got a call at 8am to go give a blessing to an older woman that got carbon monoxide poisoning once she was released from the hospital we went over and gave her a blessing in her small Ford Focus LOL as me and Elder Nelson and I sat in the back seat and she sat in the front seat we were able to give her an awesome blessing said by my dope comp!

After the blessing we got in our service clothes and went over to Sister Ralphs house to fix her sink finally! She got the right parts so we could finally finish the sink! After spending about few hours on the sink we got it all done! After the sink, we brought in all the firewood she had outside into her house and as we were all done we were fed pulled pork sandwiches so u could definitely say that service was worth it lol

We got home around 6 because her house is about 45 minutes away but luckily with the apartment being closer to our area it cuts around 15 minutes off from the drive woo! After the long hard day, we had the best food yet from the Criss'. Sister Criss who prepared the food was in culinary foods for her whole life! They actually have a super cool story and live in an old hospital that they have turned it into a bed and breakfast. They renovated it and it looks awesome inside! Super sweet family and probably the youngest family I have seen all my mission!

Sunday Nov 13th

We went to the Yonna Valley branch and wow what a big branch there was a total of like 35 people there, all way older the 65 hahah but they're so fun to get along with. We definitely have to have patience when talking so I'm working on that every day as most of our area is 70 and up!

We also are having dinner with the Vermaas family super excited we had loaded baked potatoes! Super yummy! It's funny how the Mish changes your point of view on food as we will take any food we get!

Enjoying Dairy Queen with Nelson, Willoughby, Nelson (sounds like a law firm)
