The one where it was my golden birthday!!
Hellooooo geez can't believe I'm 20 years old it makes me feel so old but glad I can finally say I'm not a teenager!
These past 2 and a half weeks have been crazy, the first thing that happened was saying goodbye to all the Elders that I was truly homies with literally so sad they were going home I'm and made me excited for when the time comes to head home lol but I still gotta little bit of the mission left lol but after saying goodbye to my companion Elder Chevalier after 3 transfer, as he was also returning home! Such a good growing experience being with that guy and definitely learned ALOT
Getting my new companion!! We found out who we were getting on July 11th and when IIU'm found out all the elders I'm good friends with texted saying dude u got a good comp u guys are gonna be awesome, I was so stoked to be getting Elder Larsen! He is from St George and has been out for a year! Super good to be with a guy that's been out just a little longer than I have! So far so good on the companionship!!
July 15th
This day was just a normal missionary day until we got this referral. Trevor requested to meet with us asap! As we got on the phone with him we found out that he grew up a member and so did his buddy that was also gonna tag along for the visit! As we try to bring members from the ward to teach with us, as it's important to involve them in missionary work! The member we bought was Brother Wolcott, as we got started with the message we had prepared I mentioned how the gospel can bring us peace, well let me explain why Trevor and his buddy didn't have peace in their life at the moment. Trevor ended up on the wrong path using drugs and got tangled up in that but he is on the road to recovery in a group home! Trevor's buddy Russel ended up going down the alcoholic route which broke my heart seeing them like this BUT they are both in a recovery group home so there on the right path.
But as I mentioned peace Russell stops me and makes me repeat what I had just said."The gospel can bring us peace, Then Russel said "I haven't felt peace in such a long time" and seeing his face be like dang I want that again because he once had that because Trevor and Russell grew up as members! As I start feeling the spirit more and more I begin to tear up just a little bit, seeing these 2 guys want to meet with the missionaries to feel that peace and hope.
We watched this awesome video on how Christ wants us to feel that peace and love from him! And after this video, our member says to Trever and Russell "How do you feel right now" and they both respond I feel happiness and peace, and the spirit in this room was window shattering, as I felt the spirit prompt me to share my story on how my world got rocked when my sister passed, and as I'm telling the story I'm literally BALLING I'm like gosh Zach keep it together having shared that story MANY times on the mission that was the FIRST TIME I had cried telling that story!!
As we wrapped up the message we invited them to read Alma 10 11 12, so we can talk about that next time we meet the following Saturday! Super crazy long story but I had to share.
JULY 20TH
Yesh I'm 20, waking up was like dang birthdays on the mish kinda suck hahah but we had a good over all day! We first started off the day helping basically a hoarder clear out her room, as we made a very little dent in 2 hours was very draining. After that I made some fire burgers, not as good as my dad's but they were still awesome, then after lunch we had some time to do some Facebook, and after that, we had an awesome dinner brought over by an awesome member Sister Langley! She got us some yummy chicken Alfredo!! My favorite on the mish!
That evening we had an awesome new member lesson with Russ! We ended up staying there for 2 and a half hours having the lesson and then being tech support for his new phone and email, then showing us where they got married a couple weeks back in their backyard! And that's where I got that picture with them that I posted on Facebook! They fed us some yummy ice cream and then we were off to bed after an exhausting birthday on the mission!! Got so many birthday wishes and texts that day so it was a very good day overall!!
These 90-degree days it gets SUPER HOT in our apartment.
This is how I cool off at the end of the day.

Brother Thorne took us out to eat after helping him sort through his wife's clothes.
She passed away not too long ago. We were happy to be there for him to
make quick work. Hard day.
