The one where we found people to teach!

This past week and month have probably been the best for actually feeling like I'm making a difference here in Oregon! 

So this week has been filled with blessings and personal revelation because we found 4 new people to teach and set up appointments for this upcoming week!! 

The first one was his name Chris and he was pumping our Gas and he asked if we were Jehovah Witnesses and we explained to him no definitely not lol.  We kept talking for like 10 minutes and he wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ's church, so we meet with him the next day and we taught the restoration of the gospel and then invited him to come to church, and HE DID! And said he loved it but he only came for the first hour which is totally fine just glad he came! We will be meeting with him later this week to talk more about the plan of salvation!


The second person is Sister Platt, her husband is a lifelong member and they got married when he was inactive so we started teaching his wife the lessons, and seems to love it, and has started reading the Book of Mormon with her husband and they have been coming to church for the past 3 weeks!! 

The next one is also the same thing as the Platt's above, so we are teaching the wife, Debbie Winters, that's not a member but her husband has a hard time coming to church. They have come to church twice but they are really trying to come I guess, but we are teaching the 3rd lesson this week!


The last person we found was Sister Ferguson, yesterday, Sunday the 26th of February, and it's the exact same story with the Platts and the Winters. They haven't come to church since we started teaching the wife so hopefully they come this upcoming week to Yonna Valley branch.


As for me and Elder Kjar we have been shifting our focus towards finding people to teach and not doing as much service but still prioritizing our new recent converts.

The one with all kinds of surprises

This week went by so fast because it was filled with surprises and other highlights below. Tuesday Nov 8th Today was filled with service and moving apartments. We did service at a thrift store called Treasures. We sorted a bunch of wires and put them in a massive bin so untangling them took forever lol once we got done they said we could go shopping around and I found a sick sock tie and a sick old handheld FM radio.  After we got done with the service we found out we were moving to a different apartment! So that was exciting and a big surprise but also a small hassle because I finally got all my clothes and desk all organized, but now had to pack it all up. Our new place is an upgrade from our old apartment so that was a massive plus! It puts us 15 minutes closer to our Keno area, but just that much further from the Yonna Valley area. The one where is doesn't rain...because it snows!

Hi everyone this is Elder Fillmore emailing from OREGON! So crazy I'm here! Wednesday, November 2nd!  At 6:30AM we checked out of the MTC and headed to Provo Station to catch our train to the airport. Once there, my comp and just chilled while we waited for our flight to OR. We landed in Eugene, Oregon early afternoon and as expected it was pouring down rain and I was like oh boy haha here it all starts. We made our way to grab our luggage and walked out of the airport and boom the sun was out so that was a tender mercy!  We were met by the APs Elder Yeager and Elder Hepworth, super cool guys. We got loaded up and on our way. We traveled to the mission offices in Eugene and when we arrived, we were greeted by President and Sister Weekes. It was so awesome to meet them F2F for the first time and they are super cool people. The one where I'm in Eugene!

Hi ik I took a fat break with emails, but since the last one, I got transferred up to EUGENE with Elder Chevalier! Such a good teacher and has a way better sense of humor than my last comp lol so I'm so thankful for that!! We are a little north of Eugene, in Santa Clara kinda a suburb of Eugene and I am on a BIKE. One of two biking areas in the mish.  The teaching pool is seriously slacking up here so we are trying to change that as much as we can so far we are teaching 3 people but since I've been here we have only been able to meet with one of them once a week. So we are trying to start teaching those others too!  Yesterday, we had a member dinner and the house was maybe 20 minutes away on a bike. So we get going it was a light sprinkle when we start and the closer we got the harder and harder it rained lol.
