The one where it's beginning to look like Christmas
Hi everyone these past couple of weeks have been very snowy and slow with the holidays coming up. Even with the super bad weather we've been meeting with a lot of non-members. But we Elder Nelson and I have been contacting a bunch of people to set us up for a successful next transfer!
A couple of days back we had a guy call us from a Facebook post. We talked to him for a little bit, he was wanting to learn more about God and how he was really struggling to find the true church. He said right after that that he wants to get baptized and learn as much as possible. We learned that he is homeless and living in an abandoned Sizzler restaurant, which is a big difficulty. Yeah, so in order for him to even be considered for baptism he has to have a physical address. Anyway, so I guess we will see how that all pans out when we first meet him this upcoming week.
This week, we (Nelson and I and Willoughby and Nelson) had a trip planned to the Medford temple, but both Nelsons got the flu. So Willoughby and I ended up going to the temple, which was awesome and so needed. We met up with other missionaries in the Zone at the temple.
For transfer news, it looks like my comp/trainer Elder Nelson is leaving the Keno and Yonna Valley branches and he's going to Grants Pass, OR I'm staying here in Klamath the same area and my new companion/follow-up trainer will be Elder Kjar. Super stoked to me him and he seems like he's a super hard worker so super stoked about that! Also, Elder Willoughby is being transferred as well. That leaves Nelson 2 and me staying.
I've grown super close with these Elders, which has helped strengthen my testimony. We spent a lot of time with each other going to services and hanging out and spending these last couple of days with each other as much as we can as well as trying to continue the work! Definitely gonna miss my companions Elder Nelson and Elder Willoughby!
I was able to speak in church on the 11th of December and the topic was about having faith and have faith can help us when hard trials come up, super easy topic and it wasn't that bad when you're in a branch and having only 15 people look at you definitely a lot better than 200+ people lol
During this transfer I've learned a lot ranging from how interesting the people in Oregon are and how to properly study the scriptures and get the most out of my studies.
More to come.
Love Elder Fillmore
