The one where the missionaries take a killer dog to the dog park

Hope everyone is doing good! I continue to pray for you all:) This week my prayer has been answered when it came to finding people to teach!! As Jamie got baptized last week, he's no longer our biggest focus, so now we can focus on finding and teaching new people and this week we literally have crazy teaching opportunities!!

I will give a lil overview of our friends that we found this week and then I'll do lil day by day action:)

Hector, (media referral) has an 8-year-old daughter He is trying to get back in the flow of things when it comes to going to church, they are not members but have attended some church services before, he also has a coworker who is looking to sit in on the conversations when we start teaching him! We don't have a lesson set up with him yet but he said if he doesn't come this Sunday then he will the next! Hector does landscaping and seems like he's in his 30s. If he does come to church we will set up a lesson for the following week.

●Tee, is 26 and is also super promising he also does landscaping!! We still haven't confirmed that maybe Tee and Hector know each other, that would be crazy if they did but we have a lesson with him at 2pm on Saturday, May 4th Brother Griffin is gonna come to that lesson!! I have never talked to him but he's a referral from our APs apparently, he's all about learning the gospel. He just wants to take things slowly. He has been basically taught everything just trying to see where he is and ultimately trying to get him to church, Update on the lesson we had with Tee he is so down for learning more and truly wants to put himself into a religion, and its no coincidence that HE was praying a couple of days ago and the missionaries(APs) called him a couple of days later wanting to meet up, so we made that very apparent in the lesson that, that was a sign from God. Shout out to Brother Griffin WML for coming to the lesson she crushed it with the church invite but sadly Tee is gonna be working this Sunday but he said he's down to come next week!
We set up another time to meet on 11th April Saturday at 2pm.

●Tamara, we are teaching her on Tuesday, She seems to like what we are teaching but we believe she's possibly getting married to someone who doesn't like our church at all. She's probably in her 60s super nice but she kinda got some backlash from her future husband? when it came to meeting with us.

●Stephen was a media referral sent to us early May 4th morning, he's down to meet up and talk about what our church has to offer to him and the community, very interesting desire but we are hoping the lesson we have set up on the 9th April we will be able to clear up come of his questions!!

Okay nowww the week

Tuesday, April 30th
We went over to Brother Furtado and helped him with just cleaning up around his house and then after we had housing inspections we obv passed haha. Later Elder Lowery got a really bad headache/migraine so he laid down for a few hours so I just called people and read. We had dinner with the 2nd counselor in the Bishopric the Gouge family. Super yummy and then we visited a couple of people on the way home. On the way home we got transfer news that me and my comp are staying! Wooooo

Wednesday, May 1st
We helped an older member move 20 bags of mulch up 3 flights of stairs and this is the 2nd time us doing this so we have moved a total of 40 bags of mulch up to her yard. But anyway, we got done with that haha then had lunch and then went to McDonald's and called some peeps and then we went to the transfer spot because we were getting Elder Scott (we started our missions same time!!) for the next couple of days because he was gonna be getting a trainee. So we picked him up, and I was also able to see my "son" Elder Pugmire!! Missed him so much!! He got transferred to Springfield so I'll see him at Zone Conference WOOO!!

After dropping off Elder Scott's stuff we visited some older members and had some nice conversations. Then we went over to a former investigator, just trying to show some love still, but he asked if we could take his dog to the dog park without a leash,(because he couldn't find one and keep in mind this is a husky/wolf mix dog, super pretty and fun so I'm like sure let's take him and just hold him by the collar the whole time, we load up in the car and take him to the dog park haha and so we get to the dog park and there are 2 gates and we get through the 1st gate and I open the second gate and this dog just approaches Leo the husky/wolf mix and they INSTANTLY start fighting like BAD BAD like full on bitting and jumping.
While this is happening I can see the news headline 3 Mormon missionaries bring a dog to park and it rips a dog into shreds. So I try to pull them apart and I'm the one holding the collar because I don't trust anyone else but me to handle the situation. Luckily they stopped fighting and we pulled them apart ughh.
We continued to walk into the park and every dog that came into the park just instantly hated on Leo so it was sad he couldn't get along with any of them but we left after just a couple of minutes of being there and we took the dog BACK to the owner and I'm like ya we never gonna take ur dog again, sorry. I told him bout the story and he's higher than a kite AHHHH so he doesn't really care. ugh but anyway after that we visited a member who's trying to get over some addictions so we tried to help him with that. But after we called it a night.

Thursday
Called a bunch of people and then had lunch and then went out to go door-knocking after a lesson had been canceled, but walking into the lesson I had a Book of Mormon and a restoration pamphlet, and after we found out the lesson fell through I had this mental battle because I was trying to figure out if I wanted to put the Book of Mormon back and a little booklet in the car. because I knew we were going door knocking and I didn't wanna come off as a total salesman, so anyways I obviously got a prompt to keep both books, and THE 2 doors we knocked on were pretty interested and he asked what I had in my hands so I explained and he expressed if HE COULD HAVE them and I'm like wow this is the first but it was cool to have someone ask for them and I knew it was a prompting to keep them in my hands instead of putting them in the car!!
On the way back I saw something that boggles the mind in the Albertson's parking lot. I was like no way that can't be, a boat on a SMALL car I was like What theeee hahaha made our day, After that door-knocking spree found a little success and definitely found some doors to go back and visit!! After a couple member visits and then we had an hour open up and we popped into Brother Furtado's house to say hi. He asked us if we were here for his birthday and we were like no way it's your birthday!!!! So glad we accidentally popped in and said to him!!
After we had to drop Elder Scott at the AP's apartment for the early wake-up call for the following day.

Friday
Had like 4 member visits they went great! We also made thank you cards for everyone who
showed up and that helped with the baptism for Jamie! After the cards, we got some Domino's pizza! And took it to brother Furtados and a mini birthday celebration for him! Seemed to really appreciate it so it made our day shout out to the Domino's gift card from Mom and Dad!

Saturday
We had a ward baptism in the morning so that was fun to attend and I was able to see some members in the Santa Clara 1st ward ( the ward I was in about a year ago) after that we had lunch and then had the lesson with Tee, an absolute dawg is totally ready for the gospel it's not even funny! After that, we did some weekly planning and had some super yummy food at the Andersons house!! Then knocked on some doors nearby and had to hop on a district call.

Sunday
Had early morning ward council and then had church. After church, we went over to Sister Irish the lady we always take the sacrament to. Then we walked around for a bit and called some people and then had a lesson canceled last minute but we had a lesson with this guy named Anthony over Zoom and he basically has some super interesting beliefs about the 2nd coming and then we had dinner with the Steffens (bishops family) some Cinco de Mayo food!! After went to go stop by Mercedes's house and she was home!! So we set up a time to have a lesson this week so wooo!! Then we handed out thank you letters to everybody that came to the baptism for Jamie!!

We had such a solid week!! Looking forward to the next woooo love ya guys and hope you also have a good week:)
